September 30, 2010

According to the Los Angeles Times, TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider will join the Broadway cast of the hit '80s hair-metal musical "Rock Of Ages" for an 11-week run starting October 11.

Snider will take over the part of Dennis, the owner of the Bourbon Room, which was played by Adam Dannheisser in the original Broadway cast. The musical tells the story of an aspiring rock singer (Joey Taranto) who seeks fame and fortune on the Sunset Strip during the '80s.

Starting October 19, Snider will host the post-show "Rock Senate Hearings," which will take place every Tuesday and feature discussions with special guests and "Rock of Ages" cast members.

Dee Snider joined the cast of the Broadway musical "Rock Of Ages" on July 14, 2010 at the quarterfinals of "America's Got Talent" to perform the TWISTED SISTER classic "I Wanna Rock". Watch video footage of the performance below.

The "Rock Of Ages" cast is led by former "American Idol" finalist Constantine Maroulis, who starred in the musical's Broadway production that won five Tony Awards.

The show is propelled by signature '80s rock anthems popularized by JOURNEY, TWISTED SISTER, JOAN JETT, PAT BENATAR, FOREIGNER, BON JOVI and REO SPEEDWAGON.

The producers described the musical as such: "It's the late 1980s and the final countdown is on for a legendary Hollywood rock club facing its demise at the hands of eager developers. When a young rocker hungry for his big break and a small town girl chasing her dreams land on the scene at this infamous venue, how far will ambition drive them? And will it be lights out for the club and all the regulars and rockers who have made it their home?"
